personally, I'd prefer we revamp it in some way. I just don't feel right using officially made sprites.

Add characters such Pokemon Trainer, Itachi, Fat Buu, Toriko, etc that are completely custom or most likely custom. We can use both official and original sprites. The style is already one of the most popular styles why not use it? Ace and I are already making a sage mode Naruto and I'm making a TS Luffy and then there's all the DOTTO projects. Cell is just about done so we have a few characters on their way if we need them.

I believe he meant that we should try to get some flash coders to do something. MUGEN isn't nearly as popular as it once was, but you can find flash games all over the place. Plus, if we were to go with the whole "next Jump Stars game" idea, I'm not sure it'd be possible with MUGEN.

That's what I meant. I'm rather certain making platforms is quite difficult on MUGEN and quite easy on flash. Also it'll give the player the ability to download or to play online w.o wasting disk space. It also allows for online multiplayer.......I think

Yep. It wasn't that long ago that someone figured out how to do it, and I'm pretty sure it had to be coded into the characters, not the stages themselves. So every stage would have to have identical platforms.

I don't know. I mean team dotto is a public spriting project not dedicated to any game or anything. Do you guys want that to change?
Otherwise, I guess I'm fine with it then.

There's also BYOND which allows online. It is generally used for rpg type games, but there have been several nonrpg type games. But the main reason I bring it up is because it is pretty well-affiliated with online play.

Like Sim, I know you mean well and want to help the members improve, but sometimes your criticism comes across as quite harsh. A fairly recent example was Dancing-Flames' Scarecrow thread. When someone's new to spriting, they need not only criticism but also some encouragement.

I think I do tend to over-estimate members a bit too much. I need to understand that some members aren't going to find pixel art as easy as I have and stick around a bit more with them.

will you guys please make this site not accessible without logging in??? people do not bother logging in and/or post because of that

That's the only logical way to solve that issue. When Mugen' comes back and sets me back to an admin, then I'll sort that out.

But heres another thing, if we work hard, and show progress with updates every other month or so, with a new character or two than it would bring forth more needs of discussion (at least for the time being without having to make it seem like the entire site's focus is on the game) Not only that, mayb we can holkd contests on a character they'd liek to see, or guess who will be added next, etc.
I had an idea where on a youtube channel, a series of of animations for a moveset will be shown as a preview for an upcoming character, but the entire sprite will be black and at the very end of the animation, get rid of the black sprite and replace it witha full base sprite, to feed the curiosity and get things more looking forward to.

I think that we should all be posting a sprite or two every two weeks or something like that just to get relative activity going. I disagree with holding contests though, since we don't have a large amount of members at the minute. About the Youtube channel, we'd also need more members that animate to get the channel updated frequently.

Just make a MUGEN JUS style game, it's the easiest. But I'd rather.......We just make the next Jump Stars game sort to speak? It's rather easy to expand Naruto, Ichigo, Sasuke, Luffy, etc. We would really need to learn from the coders at http://forums.mcleodgaming.com/index.php most likely. Also I'm already making Cell which has a toooon of hype for w.e reason news that it's in a game may draw people here.

I'm also interested in starting off a large project.

i don't think sim would agree to mugen game, but whatever. it is not my idea anyway and i am insignificant here XD

Don't worry about me, I like your Mugen so far and I hope that it eventually gets finished.

The youtube idea sounds promising if we can keep it organized, unlike the last time I was on a site that attempted that. I have Sony Vegas Pro 10, but I'm not very experienced with it. Haven't even touched it since first semester of sophomore year, and I only ever did very basic stuff with it.

I think the hardest part for any of these plans will be finding people willing to help. I just met a guy on dA who might possibly be willing to make some animations for us, and he's pretty damn good. Then of course there's MM, although I haven't seen him in a week or so.

I'm afraid I don't know any flash coders, although sgn does MUGEN and Coty has been doing some html stuff. I also have a friend who's learning C++, but he wasn't able to do much the last time I talked to him about it.

We need to begin targeting the coding community then.

-Goals!
...These leader (leading positions) will have to decide a part they'd like in the whole process.
...... There can be animation series makers, updates on the MUGEN game (unless other game, official updates on the site, a spriting academy with various theoretical lessons and guides, possibly a showcase of past contest winners (of contests coming up/occuring/etc).
.........These can be added onto/dropped according to whom is helping out at any given time.

We'll need a good video editor for that.
Quote (RetroMafioso)
Goal.3:
-Make sure not to have too much on the youtube channel where noone will come here.
...Sure past contest winners will be shown there but the "updates videos" will announce and remind [to everyone] that they should compete in the competition in order to get showcased.

The ideas are good, but we need a good video editor still.

True, but we wouldn't need a great editor. As long as someone knows the basics they should be able to handle anything we'd need done.
I'd volunteer to do it myself, but I know that I'm absolutely terrible at meeting any kind of deadline.

Okay. Not so good then. I'll see who I can invite at the moment.

Well the beauty of it is that we could have several different editors dedicated to different categories of videos, so you could start looking at it and you might be able to get soem work done. In the meantime, in between my free time, I'll be wriitng out scripts and basics that we might need done. (I'm almost finished with the newsletter)

I just think that right now, we need to gather the members first and not think too far ahead. I'd be happy if we had just one video editor, about 5 animators, about 10 spriters and just 2 mugen coders, not that we can't have more, but those would be satisfactory amounts.

No, I haven't. He's probably busy with his school work.

I hate school work D:
Wait the idea just hit me that we could have a game.....That has a story released along side the updates of the game in the form of a comic/sprite animation.......That's fucking sweet XD
Ace and I actually are helping out an animator I'll see if he's interested in working with us after we finish his sheet! Hook line sinker~

Sounds sweet. but I'm confused what program are we leaning more towards?
Because there's a way that the comics/animations could be added into the characters on mugen.

That's who I was talkin bout! And I'm not so sure about the comic series, something like that could take an awful lot of work and I'm not sure we have enough hands on board to do that, without cutting back on some of the more important work to be done.

I'm leaning more towards a flash game but I'm not involved in the coding of it so just do w.e is easier for you.
