I feel like though there are many several outfit elements ,it still looks empty / too 'simple'. I'm not rly sure how to say it ...

Is the black part a mini shirt over a white longsleeve? If so, maybe one of the black sides could have a sleve and/or maybe he could use a bet. Not really good with character design myself, but I would've though this to be good.

Yeah I must admit it does not look like an armour even a bit. Make it look like one and ... let your imagination come out from your head smile
