Let people post/discuss more things. This shit is so god damn limited. It's either sprites or nothing. Even forums with a very specific purpose have other sections for things that do not pertain to the theme of the site.

True, but we also want to avoid this site becoming like SC, where it pretty much abandons it's original purpose and everyone just goes in the other sections without producing anything new.

I know what you mean. I should let the forum become more diverse but it should also pertain to the same subject of interest. I was thinking about if I should make more sections like Mugen, video games, soundtracks, and study. I was also thinking that maybe I should change the layout of the site and that it should have a blog and a forum. Something like shoryuken.com because it's a more interesting way of keeping up to date with new content instead of just looking through threads (which I find boring myself sometimes).
Let me know what you think.

I guess it wouldn't really be an issue as long as the additional sections still have something to do with the intent of the site. Like all those sections you mentioned are involved with game design, same as sprites. as for the blog idea, I dunno. don't really have a preference with that.

I agree with putting more color in here. I don't really know anything about web design. I'd say ask Zer0 to do it. Don't really see him around anymore though.

I'm not sure if you mean Blue and Green together because that to me would look kind of bad, LOL, but yeah, if you want more site colors that's fine.

Hey sorry I haven't been around for a little while. I was sick for a few days and making up all the schoolwork I missed before report cards has been rather hectic.

I'm still not so sure... I mean, sure it would bring a few more people, but that goes against what our original plan for the site was. I suppose as long as we don't put too much in that has nothing to do with spriting/game making.

Good point lol. Maybe we should take a vote on what the new site colors should be.

I guess we could put a Game Development section and a Devlog section.
Probably a Gaming discussion section too.

That's what everybody seems to have a problem with. And then interest is lost. Mine has diminished so badly.

Why not Black and Green like how Sim's old site used to be?

You could always try adding a leveling system to help influence people to actually post sprites ragardless of what their ability to make sprites is.
I guess I might need to provide an example to clarify.
Say someone posts a sprite on the forum, you could have a special judge moderator that would rate the level of how complete/good the sprite is. The sprite would then be given an experience rating by the judge moderator and the person who posted it given the experience, the experience could then be used to gain levels.
This way you award people for posting their sprites and create a system where people want to make/improve their sprites to get a higher level.
Ofcourse there is a loophole in the system where people could post the most minor changes to get more experience quicker, however you can fix the loophole by only giving out experience based on the improvements to the sprite rather then a value for the whole sprites themselves.

Anyway, just thought of the idea and thought I should put it out there for consideration.

Edit: Oh I almost forget my other idea, themed months, have someone pick a theme for a month and ask members to try to make sprites with the theme.
You can combine this with the leveling system by granting additional exp for following the theme if you want but it would stand on its own too.
